‘Real’ women with real figures to represent new fashion brand
New fashion brand Blessd has announced the winners of its Get Real! Fashion Campaign. The four lucky winners will represent Blessd’s new range of clothing, designed for slim women with curvaceous figures, at this year’s Eve Style Show on the 7th-12th December at the NEC in Birmingham. The model reveal will take place on Blessd’s stand - e88 in hall 18.
In addition to representing Blessd at the Clothes Show, the winners will model for Blessd photo shoots and promotional events throughout 2008 and they will also be helped towards potential further modelling assignments for one year with Birmingham-based Alan Sharman Agency.
The four winners:
The winning girls were picked from 21 finalists and were chosen to represent a range of curviness. The girls vary from pear-shaped to hourglass figures across the Blessd range of sizes, which covers curvier body shapes with waist sizes 8-16.
24 year old Kelly Clinton from West Bromwich in the Black Country currently works in retail. She comments “Working for a women’s retail outlet I understand first hand the problems that curvy women find when trying to get clothing to fit properly. Blessd really answers all our issues - The clothing is truly tailored to fit.
22 year old Sandra-Marie Lees from Handsworth in Birmingham recently became the West Midlands winner for Miss British Isles 2007. She says: “I am so delighted to be a winner and to be modelling for Blessd. I have a very slim waist but because I still have curves it’s often difficult to find clothing to fit without making lots of adjustments.”
Naomi Isaac, an Occupational Therapist and student from West London comments: “The standard was so high in the competition so I’m delighted to have been chosen. I’m looking forward to my future with Blessd and I’m really excited to be modelling at the Clothes Show.”
21 year old Ceri Keenan from Chester says: “I’m so shocked to have won the competition. I never thought I’d be able to model, being a size 12, In fact I was really surprised to find a competition like this. Slim, curvy ladies don’t seem to be well catered for in today’s fashion industry so I’m really pleased to have found Blessd and can’t wait to start modelling for the brand.”
Blessd specialises in fashionable clothing, designed to compliment a woman’s natural body shape. The Blessd-dressed woman is typically someone with a healthy, active lifestyle, with either a bust over a D cup or more generous than average hips in relation to their relatively trim, UK 8-16 waist size.
Blessd teamed up with Alan Sharman agency to judge the competition and was supported by women’s editor at the Midlands publication Express & Star, Maria Cusine, and top photographer Meg Hawkins from Funkyfotos4u. Managing Director of Blessd, Claire Priest, says: “We were really pleased with the high standard of applicants we received for our Get Real! Campaign. It was extremely difficult to pick the final four but we believe we have now found the right girls to represent the Blessd brand for 2008. I hope this will encourage other curvy women to be proud of their fabulous figures.”
