Blessd Goes From Strength to Strength
Fashion company is finalist in two awards for fashion and business
Midlands-based fashion newcomer Blessd is achieving startling success and recognition in both regional and national awards. This week the company, which specialises in the design, manufacture and retail of clothing for slim, curvy women, has been named as a finalist in the West Midlands PIN fashion competition. In addition, next week Blessd will learn if it has won in the prestigious national Startups Business Awards. The company is one of four finalists in the category of ‘Best Business Plan’.
Blessd is a brand new clothing company for women with fit, fabulous figures. The company specialises in fashionable clothing designed to compliment a woman’s natural body shape. The Blessd-dressed woman is typically someone with a healthy, active lifestyle, with either a bust over a D cup or more generous than average hips in relation to their relatively trim, UK 8-16 waist size.
Blessd was one of 12 successful designers to be picked from a total of 42 applicants for the PIN competition, designed to profile the fashion talent of the West Midlands. The judges were particularly impressed with Blessd’s commercial awareness and its vision to create a unique brand specifically designed for women with curvaceous figures. Blessd will find out if it has won the £10,000 prize at the winners’ presentation in February 2008.
The Startups Awards are organised in conjunction with NatWest and seek to identify and reward the UK’s best new businesses and budding entrepreneurs. The short listing judges were impressed by Blessd’s business plan and potential for success, placing the business among a handful of finalists plucked from hundreds of entries. The winners will be unveiled at a prestigious awards ceremony to be held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington on 31st October.
Claire Priest, Managing Director of Blessd comments: “It makes me very proud to have been recognised for two awards, especially as they are both for two very different aspects of my business. This year has gone so quickly and I can’t believe how much interest Blessd has received already. I’m looking forward to a positive and exciting 2008.”
