Wed 14th October 2009From now on we'll be using Facebook and Twitter for our updates and will also be blogging at www.blessd.wordpress.com
Fri 7th August 2009We're trying to do our bit for the environment here at Blessd so we're trialling new mailing bags which are 100% Degradable (but only after a year in daylight so don't worry they're pretty strong when they're in use delivering your purchases!) and they can be used twice if you cut them open along the dotted line which means that you can reuse them yourself or if you need to return or exchange anything which is returnable you can send them back to us in it - I'm liking the feeling of being environmentally friendly, so expect to see lots more of it here at Blessd...in fact we have some eco fibre fashion arriving just next week so watch this space...
Wed 29th July 2009I'm finally figuring out how social media can work for my business - you can now follow me and Blessd on www.twitter.com. Our URL is http://twitter.com/BlessdCEO - get me!! Next Facebook!!
Tue 28th July 2009Don't you just love the British Summer!! I'm looking at our new Panache Sorrento and Floral bikinis thinking I can't wait to wear one on my honeymoon in Hawaii in September!!
Wed 3rd June 2009It was interesting to hear that Katie Perry struggled to find a dress to fit her - it gives me the desire to continue to develop the fashion side of Blessd - I'm looking forward to the day when curvy celebrities wear Blessd's evening dresses on the red carpet. Clothing development has taken a back seat over the last few months as we've been riding out the credit crunch, but we're starting work again soon on some exciting developments so watch this space!
Mon 8th September 2008I thought I was imagining things on Friday when Ugly Betty's Mode magazine decided to use real women on the catwalk...and I was right...10 minutes further into the programme and it was all a scam...or was it?!...Real Women triumphed in the end when Betty and Daniel hijacked the catwalk and created a fashion industry coup!!! I found myself wondering - should it really be a coup or a 'rare event' to see real women on the catwalk? If designers want their models to be nothing more than hangers then its about time someone created them an electronic version to use on the runway rather than putting a women who look like nothing more than skin and bones on the catwalk! At Blessd only real women will fit into our clothes!!
Tuesday 24th June 2008I'm currently feeling very glad that Blessd's garments are all made in the UK at the moment after watching the BBC's Panorama programme about garment manufacturing last night. Rest assured the aim here at Blessd is for quality garments that fit at a fair price. We will shortly be adding where the items are all made to the web pages. I can see manufacturing will be a dilemma at some point as we grow and we will need to make a decision about whether to place any manufacturing overseas...or not...?? I'd welcome your views as to whether to make Blessd a UK-only manufactured brand so let me know what you think.
Monday 16th June 2008Well my first in-store sales event went well at the weekend in Stockport - it was great to see all the Blessd garments displayed in Modiste's lovely store! Everyone who tried them loved the flattering styles and the way that they fitted their figures! Its very rewarding to see how happy people are that have rarely put on a garment in a shop which fit their shapely curves well

Sorry I've been a bit quiet lately - We've been putting the finishing touches to some new styles which I'm sure you'll love. We've got a photoshoot organised for early may and will be in touch as soon as they hit this sight! We're hoping you'll love our tunic tops, cool linen outfits and pencil skirts as much as we do! - Its sooo nice to wear a top which fits your bust as without cutting it across the middle or making you look like Bet Lynch if you pull it down so the empire line fits under your bust!

Congratulations to the Miss England judges for choosing Chloe Marshall as Miss Surrey 2008 and putting her through to this year's finals. I met the Miss England organisers at the Clothes Show Live in December last year where they were very interested in Blessd's concept as many of the pageant girls tend to have curvier figures than standard models. I would like to point out however, that from the measurements I have gleaned from the internet (38DD-32-42) at Blessd she would fit a 14/2 top and a 14/1 bottom as she has an enviable hourglass figure. Methinks I shall have to contact her about her clothing needs.... Its all well and good her making the final, but I do wonder how long we will have to wait before someone like Chloe gets the Miss England crown....My guess is quite a while but I hope to be pleasantly surprised....

I finally got fed up of people nagging me to have a blog page so I've now started one! I guess I should introduce myself first - I'm Claire Priest, the founder of Blessd and I'm on a mission to create clothing which fits and flatters real women with trim waists and larger than average busts and/or generous hips they're never going to lose no matter what they try! I have spent hours of my life trawling round the High Street and more independent boutiques searching for clothing which is cut with enough material to cover my bust, to highlight my slim waist and to flatter my generous hips and thighs.
This is where the concept of Blessd came from - to draw together in one place everything designed to accomodate larger busts and generous hips for women with a UK size 8-16 waist! Its taken a long time to get this far and there's much further to go, but the positive comments I receive on a regular basis from you guys do really encourage me to continue with my quest to change the shape of fashion!! Please e-mail in your shopping experiences/nitemares to share with us all and I'll publish as many as I can so we can ge the debate going (I've put 'Add ability for customers to comment on blog directly' to my 4 page long to do list!).
When I do eventually manage to find a top that will fit me, I then have to start a new shopping mission to find a bra to go underneath it (I've not yet managed to get to grips with bra straps showing or clear straps!). Blessd also aims to solve as many of your shopping difficulties as possible so we've made a start by stocking the fabulous new Faveo Freedom Bra along with one of the first plunge strapless bras in large cup sizes from Panache - both are great evening top solutions! Let me know what else you are trying to find and I'll do my best to source it for you and save you lots of time and effort!!
Bye for now
Claire
